If you’re a stay-at-home mom (or dad) there’s something you need to be cautions about: idolizing your home. So says Courtney Reissig, author of “Glory in the Ordinary: Why Your Work in the Home Matters to God.”
“It’s really hard to identify if you’re idolizing your work in the home,” Reissig says in a new video for The Gospel Coalition. “But we do idolize our work, we do put it before the Lord, we do see it as more important than anything else.”
So how are we supposed to be aware of it? She has three questions to ask yourself:
1. Does your mood rise or fall with a complete to-do list?
2. Do you see the people in your life as a hindrance to getting your work done?
3. Do you compare yourself to others in your work?
