This story will give you goosebumps.
On March 3, Coal City firefighters were dispatched to Freedom Ministries Church in Grandview, West Virginia. While the church went up in devastating flames, the firefighters were amazed to find that the Bibles and crosses inside the church were undamaged.
That’s right. The building itself was covered in ashes, though the Bibles and the crosses remained intact.
“On March 3 around 12:58am our department was dispatched to assist Beaver VFD with a structure fire at the Freedom Ministries Church,” reads the Facebook post from the Coal City Fire Department. “Though odds were against us, God was not.”
Coal City Fire Department continued: “Picture this, a building so hot that at one point in time, firefighters had to back out. In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes. Not a single bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed!! Not a single firefighter was hurt! Prayers for the pastor and the congregation today.”
The members of Freedom Ministries Church, while heartbroken by the destruction, remain hopeful. They shared on Facebook, “We will fight the enemy and not let him hold us down.”
What a beautiful picture of God revealing His nearness, even during the storms (or fires) of our lives
