Joanna Gaines asks fans for help after rumor spreads about her and ‘Fixer Upper’

Chip and Joanna Gaines have come under fire for their faith in the last year, but now they’re facing a different kind of attack. Joanna took to Facebook to explain the problem and even ask for help.

The message is the result of a rumor circulating that the “Fixer Upper” star is quitting the show to focus her efforts on a makeup line. That’s false, she says.

“There have been rumors floating around about me leaving the show to start a skincare/makeup line,” Joanna began. “I wanted to take a minute to let y’all know that it’s simply not true.”

“This is a SCAM!” she continued. “We have nothing to do with it and have been trying to stop it for some time.”

She then turned to her fans: “You can help!”

The rumor first started earlier this spring. At the time, Joanna wrote a blog post shooting it down.

“At this point in our career we can honestly say, we’ve heard it all—from reports of us moving our family to Vegas to us having more or less children than we actually have. So remember, you can’t believe everything you read,” she said at the time.

“No! I am not getting into the business of facial creams. And No! We are not expecting baby #5. And no worries, believing some of these stories happens to the best of us,” she added.

“In summary, don’t buy the facial cream, friends.”
